1872 'AT THE DIAMOND DIGGINGS' MINING SOUTH AFRICA 15 X 22
[THE GRAPHIC SUPPLEMENT, SOUTH AFRICA, ENGRAVED PRINT] Offered here is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE PRINT OF "AT THE DIAMOND DIGGINGS, SOUTH AFRICA" The engraving measures 16.0 in x 22.0 in. The print was at one time a 'special supplement' to the illustrated newspaper 'The Graphic' from 1872. The print is in overall very good condition with a small closed tear near the lower center fold. The image depicts the native Africans mining diamonds in open pit fashion likely for one of the British or Dutch colonizing interests (Kimberley, DeBeers or similar) .
