Its purpose is to provide a platform for in-depth analysis, solutions, and the dissemination of research and statistics on a national scale. JNE upholds a threefold mission: first, to promote the collection and distribution of factual information regarding the education of Black people; second, to facilitate critical discussions on educational proposals and practices; and third, to encourage and support investigations into relevant educational issues.Since its founding by Charles H. Thompson, the journal has maintained continuous publication through Howard University. This is VOLUME III, focuses on Negro higher education, including junior colleges, teachers' colleges, Negro colleges and universities, education of Negro ministers, and professional education. No. 4 concentrates on Negro college students in various settings, including Northern high school graduates at a Southern Negro college. This edition features contributions from notable scholars such as Kelly Miller, Charles H. Thompson, N.C. Newbold, and others. It is bound in green cloth boards with a gilt title on the spine. While the spine shows some sunning, the pages are yellowed yet clean.
