RARE Pair of Large Antique Formal Photographer Studio Baby Pictures, Young African American Baby, Greenwood, Mississippi, c.1935DESCRIPTION: Very rare original pair of posed studio photos of the same little African American baby. Very early, c.1935. All details shown. Photos are mounted in period matte folders. Hand written identification of baby, "La Francine" on both pictures. 18 month old picture has Memphis, Tenn. photographer stamp. Also, to Aunt Ruby, With Love, etc. on folders.Scans show them all.FIRST PHOTO IS CLASSIC NAKED BABY POSE AND VERY CUTE AND VERY CUTE!!Both photos are large, and MEASURE 8" x 10" EACH. This came with a collection of several early, antique photos of African American subjects. Probably from the same antique album and collection of vintage family photos. Some were cabinet photos, identified with photographer names, and all from various towns in Mississippi, including GREENWOOD, MISSISSIPPI and HOLLY SPRINGS, MISSISSIPPI photographers. The subject of these may not have lived in Greenwood, but I believe the owner or relative who receive them likely lived nearby. Godd condition overall. This would be a great addition to a collection or would look great framed. This is a great gift for the antique photo collectors in your family. Great looking, rare early photos OF THE SAME LITTLE GIRL. Good early, state identified photos of African Americans are very hard to find, ESPECIALLY 2 DIFFERENT PHOTOS OF THE SAME LITTLE GIRL, AND FOR THE SAME IDENTIFIED LITTLE GIRL!!
