Kelbaugh in his book, An Introduction To African American Photographs, after slavery ended, African Americans were free to create their own legacies. Many did so by taking Cabinet Card Photographs. From 1866 to 1879 the photographer's name and address were often printed small and neatly below the image. The name and address shown is Krieg 112 W. 5th St. Cincinnati, O.
