[ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS SUPPLEMENT, ENGRAVED PRINT] Offered here is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE PRINT OF "THE ASHANTEE (ASHANTI) WAR: INVALIDS EMBARKING AT CAPE COAST CASTLE" The engraving measures 15.75 in x 22.0 in. The print was at one time a 'special supplement' to the Illustrated London News from 1874. The print is in overall very good condition with a small hole near the lower center fold and a very light grease stain at the lower margin. The image depicts the native Africans assisting the British wounded off the shore and onto hospital ships near the South African coast.
