For bid is a FANTASTIC February 1977 color snapshot photograph of several Black / African American employees of the NAVAL SUPPLY CENTER, OAKLAND celebrating Black History Month in 1977.  The women are all dressed in bright, colorful African American ethnic costumes and posed near the Navy Base sign with the following words on the marquee:  "The Center Recognizes Black History Month Feb."  At least 14 people are in the group.  Luckily, the photo has bright color so you can see the wide array of colors in the costumes.  WONDERFUL photo.  Many wonderful 1970's "Afro" hairstyles, too.  Looks like one man is in the back row sneaking into the ladies' photograph!  I love it.  Stamp on the back indicates photo was developed in March 1977. This is a terrific, important piece of Oakland Black ethnic / cultural history.  Photo is in very good condition.  Measures just under 5 inches wide.
