--wow what an interesting item; very important publication THE AMERICAN FREEDMAN. a monthly journal devoted to the promotion of Freedom, Industry, Education and Christian Morality in the South -- from The American Freedmen's and Union commission (The purpose of the commission was to support education projects in the southern states after the Civil War.), 1866- original -- this is Volume 1 #4 (15pgs) and also includes THE NATIONAL FREEDMAN Volume 2 # 7 (21pgs) from the same date 1866. both are published in the same covers of THE AMERICAN FREEDMAN. a bit musty but VERY SCARCE PUBLICATION right after the end of slavery and about "all men created equal" WOW. hey -- if you like this item, you will probably find more items that you like in my ebay store, check it out, i have so many items up, in all sorts of categories, go ahead and search it out, you will be happy you did, and i will always combine items to save you on the shipping costs. have fun on here, -check my feedback for any concerns. location -- bottom of barrister bookcase #2 then in bag 3-- 148
