1896-1912 CABINET PHOTO REPUBLICAN CLUB OF CARLISLE, PA. BANNER
Circa 1896-1912 or so political campaign photo. Extremely rare cabinet photo shows a family sitting in their parlor with a Republican political campaign banner. The banner, which is hanging on the wall shown on the right side of photo, has the wording "Colored Republican Club Of Carlisle". The banner was probably made of silk with hand painted lettering. The banner had at least one other word before the word "Colored". But, the lettering in the photo on the banner before the word "Colored" only shows a tiny bit of the bottom of one letter. So, we do not have any idea what the missing word or words were before the word "Colored" that are no longer in the photo.
