Real photo postcard of the famous national treasure that sit upon the steeple of the First Church in Cambridge, Ma. The vane was made in America by Shem Drowne America's first documented weathervane maker. It was made by Downe in 1721. On the back of the card it incorrectly states that it was made in England - 'A Symbol of Vigilance'. A great example of American folk art. The card is in good condition - please see the images. Postally unused. Circa 1900.
